Egg Hatcher
Tired of manually throwing eggs or building massive redstone chicken farms? Egg Hatcher does the work for you!
What it does
This data pack automatically hatches dropped eggs right before they disappear (after about 5 minutes). For an egg to hatch, it just needs to be sitting on a cozy block like Hay, Mud, or Mud Bricks. When it hatches, a baby chicken pops out, playing a crack sound with some particles.
Performance
The pack checks how many chickens are nearby. If there are already too many in the area, the egg simply despawns instead of hatching.
Customization
You can easily tweak settings using /function egg_hatcher:_config to change:
- Density Limit: How many chickens are allowed in one area.
- Density Range: How far away it checks for other chickens.
- Chance: The percentage chance an egg will actually hatch.
Edit the #egg_hatcher:hatcher_blocks block tag to change the valid blocks where an egg must be on top of to hatch.
If you ever need to remove the datapack, use /function egg_hatcher:uninstall to get rid of all scoreboards and data.
