NBT XP Multiplier
Direct NBT tag manipulation for experience_orb entities. Multiplies XP drops at the source without increasing entity count.
1. Trigger Edition (Singleplayer / Small SMPs)
Built for pure Survival/Hardcore. Players can configure the datapack dynamically without Cheats.
- Requirements: Minecraft 1.20.2+
- Permissions: Level 0 (No OP required).
- Performance: Minor tick overhead (listens for triggers in the tick loop).
- Set Multiplier:
/trigger XPMultConfig set <1-10000>(Inputs are clamped to prevent NBT corruption) - Toggle Boot Message:
/trigger XPMultToggle
2. Function Edition (Large Servers / SMPs with Cheats)
Optimized for high-population servers. Strips all listener checks from tick.mcfunction to maximize TPS.
- Requirements: Minecraft 1.20.2+ (Utilizes function macros)
- Permissions: Level 2 (OP required to configure).
- Performance: Zero tick overhead (configuration functions run strictly on demand).
- Set Multiplier:

Installation
- Drop the
.zipinto your world'sdatapacksdirectory. - Execute
/reloador restart the server/world. - Configuration variables are persistently stored in world data.
Which version to choose?
Choose the version that matches your environment. Both share the same core NBT logic but differ in configuration handling.
Why use this?
- No Extra Entities: Multiplies the XP value directly at the source via NBT tags. It modifies the existing orb rather than spawning new ones.
