Pressing!
Pressing is a small datapack that lets you automate most non-renewable and some renewable items in Minecraft! It tries to stay true to the vanilla game adding no new blocks or items, only mechanics.
It adds 4 new mechanics:
- Pressing
- Flaming
- Dripping
- Planting
Pressing
Pressing lets pistons do crafting, press an item using a piston with a block from above and it will change the item!

Flaming
Flaming lets campfires do crafting, simply drop items into a campfire for different results.
Examples:
- Cobblestone -> Deepslate
- Sand -> Red Sand
Dripping
Dripping lets dripstone do crafting, place items under a dripstone spike with water above it and they'll transform into something new!
Examples:
- Sand -> Dirt
- Copper -> Oxidized copper
- Hay Block -> Slimeball
Planting
Planting lets dispensers plant crops and saplings from below!
Q&A
Q: There are some items here that are already renewable, why is that?
A: Some items like redstone and shulker shells, while renewable, are very difficult to automate in the base game. Most players aren't going to want to transport a shulker to the overworld just for a shulker farm, therefore I've added recipes so they are actually reasonable to automate. Additionally, some items in vanilla require a player to be placing or breaking blocks. I've tried my best to remove semi automatic farms from the game, which is why resin clumps can be automated from eggs and dispensers can plant.
