Malum and WR's nether ores have a lot in common, don't they? and JNE's fossil fuel is, admittedly, kinda useless... would it hurt to combine the three into one?
Restless Remnants does just that! thanks to the power of data and resourcepacks, the loottables have been changed, and flavor has been added thanks to slightly more interesting names!

- JNE consuming remnant ore drops remnant chunks instead of fossil fuel
- remnant chunks can be placed on top of campfires to turn them into blazing remnants
- longing remnants drop blazing fragments instead of vanilla quartz
- blazes drop blazing remnants as commonly as blaze rods
- wizard's reborn blazing wand now requires blazing remnant to craft
There's also an implied, very quasilore friendly process here. the Remnant develops from things that die in the soulsand valley, by having It "consume" the carcasses. the consumed become the consuming, and that's how the remnant chunks are made. chunks found outside the valleys are "longing", as in they can't consume any longer. due to building pressure, some of them turn into blazing shards, the "diamonds" of the nether. their larger counterpart can also be created by cooking them at campfires. said counterpart, the "blazing remnant", is now also a blaze drop, which has it's own implications i'm sure people can figure out for themselves.
how to install:

1 - load as a resourcepack, like you'd load anything else
2 - load as a datapack, using one of the many amazing mods that do it globally, Paxi for example, or by simply dropping it into the datapacks folder in your world
NOTE: the file counts as both a datapack and a resourcepack, and there should be one copy in both folders each. i long for the day that datapacks will be able to be loaded from the same folder as resourcepacks, but it is not today unfortunately!
