That One Chest Lock
Lock your trapped chests using renamed trial keys.
The name of the trial key becomes the chest's password. Anyone holding a trial key with the exact same name can open the chest normally, making it easy to create spare keys and share access with other players.

Regular chests are intentionally ignored. Trapped chests provide a clear visual indicator that the container can be locked.
How to Use
Create a Key
Obtain a trial key and rename it using an anvil. Its name will be used as the password.
Lock a Chest
Place a trapped chest, hold your renamed trial key, look directly at the chest, and run:
/trigger lock
Open a Chest
Hold a trial key with the matching name and right-click the chest normally.
Unlock a Chest
Hold the matching trial key, look at the chest, and run:
/trigger unlock
Installation
- Place the datapack ZIP inside your world's
datapacksfolder. - Run
/reload. - Run
/datapack listto confirm that the datapack is enabled.
Important Limitations
- Anyone who knows or guesses the key name can create a matching key.
- Renamed trial keys cannot be used to open trial chamber vaults.
- Hoppers directly underneath locked chests are removed, including your own automation hoppers.
- Server operators can bypass locks using commands.
- Waterlogged chests are restored without their waterlogged state.
