Chromaglow
What it does
Chromaglow automatically grants every player a glowing effect by default and lets them customize its color using Minecraft team colors. Players can choose their color and configure contextual hiding options directly from their personal /trigger menu, while server admins can force global glowing rules.
Personal Menu
Run /trigger chromaglow to open your personal menu.
- Team Colors: Choose from vanilla team color profiles to update your glowing effect color instantly.
- Glow Removal: Toggle or remove your active glowing effect directly from your menu.
- Contextual Rules: Toggle whether crouching, invisibility, or disguises hide your glowing effect (if allowed by server settings).
Contextual Visibility
By default, contextual visibility follows the same hiding behavior as the locator bar. These rules can be toggled by players in their personal menu unless locked by server settings:
- Crouching: Automatically hide the glowing effect when sneaking.
- Invisibility: Automatically hide the glowing effect while under the Invisibility potion effect.
- Disguises: Automatically hide the glowing effect when equipping items in
#chromaglow:disguises(such as carved pumpkins and mob heads).
Customization
Use /function chromaglow:_config to configure global server settings:
- Force whether players glow.
- Force when to hide the glowing effect.
- Require players to have a specific tag to receive the glowing effect.
- Select which setting categories players are allowed to customize in their personal menu.
Each setting can be reset individually, or the entire configuration can be restored to its defaults.
Uninstallation
Use /function chromaglow:uninstall to remove its persistent data if you ever need to remove the datapack.
What's Next
In future updates, I plan to add more configs such as auto grant glowing to pets or even allowing interacting with an item to give glowing to an entity.
