Entity Tick Authority

This mod is a light and unintrusive mixin patch to restore how pre-1.14 vanilla handled entity updates in the tick cycle. More specifically, it moves the entity tracker (ChunkMap) to be last in the servers event collection cycle (ServerLevel).

Why does this matter? In vanilla, all the entities you see on your screen are broadcasted by ChunkMap. This is a server class that tells the client what entities to render. The ChunkMap broadcast event lies inside ServerLevel, another server class that handles all tick related events in the world.

By default, ChunkMap is first up in the ServerLevel event cycle.

By being first in order, ChunkMap attempts to broadcast data which the server hasn't even processed yet. This causes an entire tick of entity updates to be ignored. For clients, that means all entity position, movement, velocity, and interaction updates are delayed by 50ms, an effect even worse with poor internet connection or TPS lag.

It allows the server to collect entity data for ChunkMap to broadcast on time. This eliminates the 1 tick delay from empty updates, and only broadcasts data it actually has.

Usage

This mod runs server side, and doesn't require clients to have the mod. It works in the singleplayer aswell.

The mod should be fully compatible with most other mods. It was tested and works with all major optimization mods. Report any incompatibilies to the github repository.
