Removes the 200-block hitscan cap in Vic's Point Blank and extends it to 512 blocks (32 chunks).
Vic's Point Blank hard-caps hitscan raycast distance to 200 blocks when aiming and 100 blocks when hip-firing, no matter what weapon you're using or what your render distance is set to. This mod removes both of those caps and sets all hitscan ranges to 512 blocks (32 chunks) on both client and server.
The default distance limits don't work well for large-scale PvP, military RP, or anyone running high render distances who expects their sniper to actually land shots past 200 blocks. Bullets just vanish with zero feedback, which feels like a bug more than a balance decision.
This is a Mixin mod. It doesn't touch any Point Blank files directly. It hooks into two internal methods at runtime:
getMaxServerShootingDistance- controls the server-side raycast limitgetMaxClientShootingDistance- controls the client-side raycast limit
Both get overridden before any of the original distance logic runs (render distance capping, hip-fire penalty, etc.) and return 512.
- Client + Server: Needs to be installed on both sides in multiplayer. The server does the hitscan check, so if it's only on your client, shots past 200 blocks will still get rejected.
- Hitscan only: This only affects raycast weapons. Projectile bullets with travel time and gravity are not changed.
