Heads up before you read
This is my first mod. Ever. I made it solo and it's my first real release, so even though I've playtested it a bunch (singleplayer and with friends on a server), you're probably going to run into bugs or weird stuff. That's just how a 1.0.0 goes.
If something breaks, please don't leave a bad review over it. Come report it on the Discord instead and I'll actually fix it: https://discord.gg/2vvgwGFRxE
That's where all bug reports, feedback and ideas go. I read them.
Kernel Panic
Kernel Panic is a horror mod built on one idea: unpredictability.
There's no boss to hunt and no structure to find. Instead, at rare random moments while you're just playing normally, your game has a "glitch spike" for a few seconds. The screen tears into digital corruption, hex error codes bleed across your HUD, the world warps, and an entity called The Fragment shows up just outside your view. It stands there frozen for a moment... then it moves.
You can go twenty minutes without anything happening, or it can hit the second you load in. That's the whole point. You never feel safe, because the corruption doesn't answer to anything except chance.
Best played at night, with sound on, once you've forgotten it's even installed.
Features
- Random glitch spike events on a per-player timer
- Full-screen corruption: post-processing shader, camera shake, flickering hex error overlay
- The Fragment, a custom entity that spawns behind you, watches, and then hunts you
- Positional glitch audio and a corruption soundbed that cut the instant the threat is gone
- Works in singleplayer and on servers (install it on both the client and the server)
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Minecraft Forge (built on 47.4.10)
- GeckoLib 4.8.3
