About
This mod is a semi-automatic reset version of Meds And Herbs for 1.21.1neoforge. Because the original mod was made with MCreator, almost all of its code logic has been changed, but most of the original gameplay experience is still there.
Meds and Herbs is a mod that adds medicine, poison and new in-game mechanics into the game. The mod provides a certain level of challenge and entertainment, especially if it's being played on a server.
Overall, it's about a semi-realistic ways of causing or curing illnesses in the player. The making of said medicine is oversimplified, yet majority of the plants in this mod have a very close resemblance of how they're used in real life. And the negatives of said plants are considered a misuse in this mod.
Features
You can bleed, break bones, get burns, parasites, and be poisoned while playing this mod. Of course none of these effects occur randomly, they happen on specific conditions. If the player thought of an idea to use a bucket of milk to cure these effects, it will not work. You have to make medicine to cure these negative health conditions.
Similarly, other negative effects like sluggishness and weakness can no longer be cured with milk, but need to be treated with drugs from the mod, and some negative effects CANNOT BE TREATED at all!
Medicine
You can use a syringe with one hand (either main or off-hand) and use your other hand to hold an empty vial to draw blood from the target, or hold medicine in your other hand to inject it into the target. When you hold a medkit in your other hand, it will automatically use the appropriate medicine to cure any disease you have.
Some meds need to be used with a dressing in the same way.
Target
Right-click to select the creature in front of you, then sneak. Right-click to select yourself. The same applies to bandages, splints, and sewing kits.
Making
You can use 4 flowers to make a bouquet, then grind it into herbal powder using a Grinder. This process records and keeps track of the flower combination you used. Some herbal powder combinations can be made into specific medicines, and if there's no matching combination, it will make a default medicine (Herbal). All recipes are compatible with JEI and can be customized through data packs. You can even customize which medicine a certain herbal powder combination creates, or customize the medicine itself.
Modification Medicine
You can make new meds type by datapacks, specify whether it's for internal or external use, the color of the medicine, its effects, and what conditions it can treat (when used in a medical kit, it will smart search this list and apply the effects).
Herbs
All plants can naturally grow and regenerate with bone meal, and the areas where different herbs grow are as follows:
- Vinca/Chamomile/Opium: Grown in forest, plains and meadow, and can generate here by using bonemeal.
- Belladonna: Grown in forest, and can generate here by using bonemeal.
- Sweet Clover: Grown in forest, and can copy by using bonemeal on.
- Plantago: Grown in plains and meadow, and can generate here by using bonemeal.
- Cotton: Grown in savanna and badlands, and can generate on savanna by using bonemeal.
- Aloe: Grown in savanna and badlands, and can generate on badlands by using bonemeal.
