Note: This mod was completely vibe-coded. I coded this mod because I couldn't find a suitable death chest mod for my own private server. I wanted to share it with anyone else looking for such a mod.

A lightweight, server-side death chest mod for Minecraft 26.2 (Fabric).
When you die, all your items are saved in a chest at your death location — ready to pick up with a single left-click.
✨ Features
- 📦 Automatic chest spawning on death — single or double chest depending on item count
- 👆 Left-click to retrieve all items instantly back into their original slots
- 🎯 Smart slot restoration — items return to the exact slots they were in before death
- 🌊 Replaces liquids — spawns in water or lava without issue
- 🧱 Guaranteed spawn — 3-phase search algorithm ensures a chest always appears:
- Phase 1: Same column ±50 blocks up/down
- Phase 2: 100×100 area ±20 Y around death point
- Phase 3: Obsidian platform fallback — always spawns
- 🌀 Void death support — configurable behavior when dying below world height
- 💥 Explosion monitoring — detects externally destroyed chests and cleans up state

🖱️ How it works
- You die → chest spawns at death location with all your items
- A floating text label shows the chest owner and instructions
- Left-click the chest → items return to your inventory in original slots
- If inventory is full, remaining items stay in the chest
- Chest disappears after left-clicking (no free chest exploit!)
- Right-click still opens the chest normally

🐛 Known Issues / Notes
- The "Mismatch in destroy block pos" warning in server logs is a harmless Vanilla behaviour with double chests and can be safely ignored.
