Overview
Natural Sponge adds a new, lore-friendly way to obtain sponges in Minecraft.
Instead of relying solely on rare structures, sponges can now be discovered naturally in Warm Ocean biomes — in the form of Dead Sponges.
This feature is designed to stay true to vanilla gameplay while reducing unnecessary randomness and frustration.
Features
Dead Sponge Generation
- Generates naturally in Warm Ocean biomes
- Appears in small quantities, blended with the environment
New Block: Dead Sponge
- A dried, inactive form of sponge
- Must be collected using a hoe
- Drops itself when harvested correctly
Crafting
- Dead Sponge can be crafted into a Sponge
Balance
Natural Sponge is carefully balanced to fit vanilla progression:
- Rare generation prevents farming abuse
- Tool requirement adds interaction depth
- Maintains exploration as the primary method of acquisition
