PhantomLoot
PhantomLoot is a lightweight, high-performance, 100% server-side instanced looting mod designed for modern Fabric servers. It brings unique, per-player container inventories to your world without requiring players to install any client-side mods. Vanilla clients can connect and experience fully isolated loot seamlessly!
Key Features
- 100% Server-Side: No client-side files required. Fully compatible with vanilla connecting clients.
- Per-Player Instanced Loot: When a player opens a world-generated structure chest, barrel, or shulker box, they get a unique virtual inventory roll. Other players can step up to the exact same chest and get their own fresh loot!
- Persistent Containers: If a player takes only half the items and closes the chest, the mod remembers exactly what they left behind without resetting or changing what other players see.
- Crash & Rollback Protection: Uses a deterministic seeding algorithm derived from the block coordinates, world seed, and player UUID. If a player disconnects or the server crashes mid-loot, their inventory remains exactly identical upon logging back in.
- Double-Chest Synchronization: Smart coordinate tracking automatically pairs double chests to a single master coordinate lookup key, preventing players from double-dipping the left and right sides of a single double chest.
- Anti-Grief Protection: Prevents non-administrative players from breaking unlooted or registered world-gen containers, stopping loot deletion or chest duplication exploits.
Performance & Architecture
Built from the ground up for high-concurrency environments and multi-core server hardware:
- Zero Dependencies: This mod operates completely on raw vanilla mappings and native Mixins. It has strictly zero reliance on the Fabric API, keeping the server footprint extremely small.
- Asynchronous Storage Pipeline: Deep NBT serialization and world-level
PersistentStatedisk-flushing are offloaded entirely to background worker threads. The main game loop handles zero disk I/O, ensuring absolute stability and zero micro-stutters/tick drops. - Modern Baseline Integration: Built specifically utilizing the type-safe Data Component Type registries introduced in modern Minecraft versions, completely bypassing legacy, laggy NBT inspection methods.
Configuration & Compatibility
Because the mod hooks deeply into the AbstractBlock interaction layer, it works out-of-the-box with all vanilla loot tables and any server-side custom data packs.
Commands & Permissions
- Players with Level 4 Operator permissions can bypass the anti-break protection to remove or modify chests freely.
- Unauthorized break attempts will safely cancel the block destruction packet and notify the player on their action bar.
