PlayerManager
PlayerManager is a client-side Fabric mod designed to improve the Minecraft multiplayer experience with advanced friend management, chat customization, and local player controls. The mod focuses on making servers more social, organized, and comfortable to play on — all without requiring any server-side plugins or external backend systems.
With a clean and easy-to-use interface, PlayerManager allows you to manage players directly from an in-game menu opened with the O key. The mod reads all players from the current tab list and displays them in a searchable overview where you can filter between all players, friends, and muted players. Friends can be marked locally and are highlighted throughout the game with yellow names and star icons.
Friends are visible in multiple locations, including:
- The player list (Tab)
- Above player nametags
- A dedicated friends section inside the ESC menu
You can also remove friends directly from the menu at any time.

Chat Improvements
PlayerManager adds several useful chat-related features to make communication easier and more personalized.
Mention Notifications
The mod can detect when someone mentions your username in chat using:
- Name
- @Name
When your name is mentioned:
- A customizable notification sound (ping) is played
- Your name is highlighted locally in chat
- The highlight color can be customized in the settings menu
Your own messages will never trigger mention notifications.
Friend Chat Features
Friends are specially highlighted in chat:
- Friend names receive a star icon
- Friend messages can appear with custom colors
- Online and offline notifications are displayed when friends join or leave the current server
Status messages use colored formatting:
- Friend names appear yellow
- Online appears green
- Offline appears red
The mod can also optionally process server and system messages for mentions and notifications.

Local Player Controls
PlayerManager includes several local-only moderation and visibility features:
- Hide muted players from chat
- Locally block players
- Make blocked players invisible
- Suppress sounds from blocked players
- Toggle chat visibility entirely
- Enable or disable server/system messages
All settings can be configured directly inside the mod menu.

Important Limitation
Friend online/offline detection only works on the currently connected server. Cross-server friend tracking is not possible without additional backend or server-side support.
