PokéRider brings a modern, animation-aware riding experience to Cobblemon 1.5.2 — with dynamic movement, realistic physics, and tons of customization.

PokéRider transforms Pokémon into fully interactive mounts, bringing a more polished riding experience to the older Cobblemon 1.5.2 ecosystem.

Ride Pokémon with species-specific seating, animation-aware movement, physics-based flight, surfing, diving, Pokémon pickup, creature carrying, and extensive per-species customization.

🦅 Animation-Aware Mounting

Unlike basic riding systems with a generic seat and static rider, PokéRider attaches the rider directly to configurable bones on each Pokémon's model.

The result is a mount that feels connected to the Pokémon's movement and animations.

A Level 1 Pokémon with very low Speed won't suddenly move like a fully trained Pokémon.

• No drowning while mounted

Perfect for exploring rivers, lakes, oceans, and underwater areas.

🤝 Pokémon Pickup

Don't worry about falling away from your Pokémon.

Press Shift + F while unmounted and your Pokémon can:

• Fly toward your position
• Predict your movement while falling
• Catch you in mid-air
• Automatically place you back onto its back

Your Pokémon can literally come to your rescue.

💪 Carry Pokémon, Mobs & Players

Some Pokémon can carry more than just their rider.

Species with the appropriate anatomy can:

• Pick up mobs
• Carry other players
• Transport creatures while flying
• Release carried entities at any time

Press G to grab or release.

🪑 Multiple Riding Poses

Different Pokémon and movement states can use different riding poses.

• Standard seated position
• Forward-leaning "piggyback" pose
• Automatic ground/flying pose switching
• Per-Pokémon riding configuration

Each species can have its own customized riding style.

⚙️ In-Game Seat Editor

Configure your mounts without leaving the game.

Press ; while riding to open the editor.

Adjust your mount in real time:

• Rider position
• Seat offsets
• Rotation
• Flight speed
• Acceleration
• Species-specific settings

The editor includes an orbiting preview camera and lets you preview different Pokémon animation states:

• Walk
• Sleep
• Swim
• Fly
• Hover

See your changes instantly instead of repeatedly editing config files and restarting the game.

🔧 Highly Configurable

PokéRider is designed to give every Pokémon its own riding configuration.

Using:

config/pokerider.json

you can customize individual species, including:

• Seat bone
• Pivot point
• Position offsets
• Rotation offsets
• Flight speed
• Acceleration
• Movement settings
• Special abilities
• Riding behavior

Over 35 Pokémon are already configured by default, with support designed to be easily expanded to additional species.

The physics and flight mechanics were heavily inspired by the incredible Saint Dragons mod.
