Chainsaw Man - Public Safety: Fear & Contracts is a Chainsaw Man-inspired survival mod that brings Devils, contracts, Fiends, Hybrids, Public Safety, and the consequences of terrible supernatural decisions into Minecraft.
Minecraft is still Minecraft. You mine, build, farm, explore, fight mobs, raid structures, get lost underground, and spend far too long making your storage room slightly less ugly.
The difference is that Devils exist now.
Some can be avoided. Some can be hunted. Some can be negotiated with.
Others have already decided what they think about you.
That saves everyone some time.
Devils are born from fear and vary in strength, behavior, abilities, and temperament. Fighting them may open new paths, attract the attention of Public Safety, lead to contracts, or simply demonstrate why attacking the horrible thing with teeth was a poor decision.
Your actions can also follow you. Devils and Devil Hunters may remember violence, witnesses can spread information, hostility can persist, and Public Safety may eventually become interested in whatever suspicious pattern seems to keep happening around you.
Apparently institutions start asking questions when their employees repeatedly disappear near the same person.
Devil Contracts
Some Devils can be negotiated with, but they are not vending machines with dialogue boxes.
Each Devil has its own interests, conditions, preferences, and reasons for accepting or rejecting someone. Your actions, experiences, possessions, history, or willingness to sacrifice something may matter.
They may consider you useful.
They may find you interesting.
They may also think you are an idiot.
Contracts can grant powerful abilities, but power usually comes with a price.
And the Devil is generally the one deciding what counts as fair.
Fiends, Hybrids and Devils
You do not have to remain human.
Fiends, Hybrids, and Devils are all part of the mod's progression, each with their own mechanics, strengths, limitations, and ways of surviving.
Hybrid paths include transformations inspired by:
- Chainsaw Man
- Bomb
- Katana Man
- Crossbow
- Flamethrower
- And more
Being difficult to kill is useful.
It also tends to have a negative effect on common sense.
Public Safety
Public Safety exists throughout the world through Devil Hunters, encounters, structures, and systems influenced by your actions.
Hunters may fight Devils, respond to threats, interact with players, remember hostile behavior, and share information about dangerous individuals.
You can work with them.
You can stay out of their way.
You can also make yourself their problem.
The third option is remarkably easy.
Built Around Minecraft Survival
There is no mandatory questline dragging you from objective marker to objective marker.
Just play Minecraft.
Explore. Survive. Fight Devils. Find strange structures. Investigate things that probably should have been left alone.
The mod is designed to exist inside normal survival instead of replacing it with a separate progression game.
Some content can be deliberately pursued.
Some of it appears while you are doing something completely unrelated.
Sometimes you find the mod.
Sometimes the mod finds you.
The second one usually has more health.

Can I become a Fiend or Devil?
Yes.
Fiends and Devils have their own progression and mechanics separate from Hybrids.
Can I make contracts with Devils?
Yes.
Different Devils care about different things and may judge you based on your actions, experiences, history, possessions, or sacrifices.
They may give you some idea of what interests them.
They are still Devils, however, not customer support.
Is this a power fantasy mod?
You can become very powerful.
Unfortunately, the world contains things capable of making that confidence look premature.
Power often comes with requirements, limitations, costs, or consequences.
Does this replace vanilla Minecraft?
No.
Minecraft survival remains the foundation. The mod adds Devils, hunters, contracts, transformations, structures, encounters, and new systems into the existing world.
Your dirt house remains perfectly viable.
Its life expectancy is a separate matter.
