RED Smart Speaker

Red Station adds a smart speaker, wireless redstone control, home automations, and a music player to Minecraft.

Connect devices, organize them into groups, and control your smart home through the in-game chat:

Red, turn on the lights

The speaker will respond, animate its light ring, and send a signal to the connected mechanisms.

Features

• Wireless redstone control without long trails of redstone dust.
• Support for up to 8 connected devices, or 16 devices with a hub.
• Custom device names and groups, such as "Kitchen Lamp" in the "kitchen" group.
• Up to 12 customizable commands for turning groups on, off, or toggling them.
• Automations triggered by time, weather, nearby players, or redstone signals.
• A music player supporting vanilla music discs and tracks added by other mods.
• Music queues, pause, repeat, shuffle, and track controls.
• The Red ID ownership and permission system for multiplayer.
• English and Russian localization.
• An API for integration with mechanisms and sensors from other mods.

Devices

Red Station

The heart of your smart home. The speaker stores connected devices, commands, automations, and the music queue.

Smart Relay

A Smart Relay can be installed inside a compatible mechanism, allowing the speaker to control it wirelessly.

If the mechanism is broken, the installed relay drops as a separate item.

Supported vanilla mechanisms include:

• redstone lamps;
• doors, trapdoors, and fence gates;
• pistons;
• dispensers and droppers;
• powered rails;
• note blocks;
• bells;
• crafters.

Linking Module

Used to pair the speaker with Smart Relays and hubs. The pairing range is 16 blocks.

Smart Home Hub

Increases the maximum number of connected devices from 8 to 16. Each hub can be paired with only one speaker.

Chat Commands

Commands are entered in the regular in-game chat and must begin with Red.

Examples:

• Red, turn on the lights
• Red, turn off the kitchen
• Red, Cat
• Red, play Cat
• Red, pause
• Red, resume
• Red, next
• Red, previous
• Red, random track
• Red, enable repeat
• Red, add Cat to the queue
• Red, show the queue
• Red, what is playing

Messages beginning with Red are handled by the mod and are not sent to other players in public chat.

The command is handled by the nearest accessible speaker within 16 blocks.

Automations

Red Station can control connected devices without player input.

Available triggers include:

• sunrise;
• nightfall;
• rain starting;
• a thunderstorm starting;
• a player entering an 8-block radius;
• the speaker receiving a redstone signal.

Each automation can target a device group and turn it on, turn it off, or toggle it.

Music Player

Red Station can play music without inserting a physical music disc.

The player supports:

• searching by full or partial track name;
• music discs added by other mods;
• a queue of up to 16 tracks;
• pause and resume;
• previous and next track controls;
• repeat mode;
• shuffle mode;
• saving the current track and queue with the world.

Red ID and Multiplayer

When placed, a speaker is bound to the player who placed it through Red ID.

The owner can grant access to other players and assign roles:

• Owner — manages the speaker, access permissions, and removal;
• Administrator — configures the speaker and pairs devices;
• User — uses commands and the music player.

A Red ID can include up to 16 additional players. Server operators retain emergency access.

Quick Start

1. Place a Red Station.
2. Use a Smart Relay on a compatible mechanism.
3. Use the Linking Module on that mechanism.
4. Within 15 seconds, use the same module on the speaker.
5. Open the speaker interface and assign the device a name and group.
6. Create a command for that group.
7. Enter a command in chat, such as Red, turn on the lights.

To increase the connection limit, use the Linking Module on a hub and then on the speaker.

Use Shift with the Linking Module to reset a device pairing.

Requirements

• Minecraft: 1.21.2–1.21.3
• Mod loader: Fabric
• Required dependency: Fabric API
• Java: 21
• The mod must be installed on both the server and player clients.

Each Minecraft version uses a separate mod file. Make sure you download the file matching your game version.

Current Limitations

• The player, speaker, and connected device must be in the same dimension.
• Pairing and command range is limited to 16 blocks.
• A speaker supports 8 devices without a hub or 16 with a hub.
• A speaker can store up to 12 custom commands.
• This mod is still in development, so mechanics and interfaces may change.

For Mod Developers

Other mods can:

• mark their blocks as compatible with Smart Relays;
• implement custom wireless signal handling through the Java API;
• register additional automation sensors.
