ShutUpDeadEntities
A lightweight client-side mod that brings natural sound fading and pitch drops to dying entities, fixing Minecraft's misleading sound persistence.
Why you need this
In vanilla Minecraft, entity sounds don't stop when a mob dies or despawns—they just keep playing the full audio file. This isn't just annoying; it directly messes with your gameplay awareness and causes unnecessary paranoia:
Endermen: No more 15-second ear-shattering screams on your XP farm after you've already killed them.
Creepers: Killed a Creeper in a cave, but still hear it hissing? You no longer have to panic and jump around thinking there's a second Creeper behind you.
Pillagers: Eliminates the crossbow-winding sound from already defeated Pillagers so you aren't baiting yourself into holding up a shield for no reason.
Phantoms: Stops the lingering dive-bomb swoosh after you shoot them out of the sky.
Nether Portals: Stepped into a portal frame by accident while walking around your base? The heavy warping ambient sound immediately fades out as soon as you step away, instead of forcing you to listen to the whole transition theme.
Features
Natural Fading & Pitch Shift: Dying mob sounds smoothly fade out with a pitch drop, providing a clear, satisfying "they are gone" audio cue instead of ghost sounds playing over empty space.
Universal Support: Works dynamically on all vanilla and modded entities with no extra setup required.
Purely Client-Side: Works everywhere, including vanilla multiplayer servers.
Because of how the pitch-shift fading works, some dying mobs produce pretty hilarious audio effects. For example, a Ghast will literally meow at you as it fades out! :D
