🎒 Inventory Progression
In SlotZero, inventory space is part of progression.
Players no longer begin the game with a fully unlocked inventory. Early survival becomes far more strategic as you slowly build your carrying capacity through crafted progression equipment.
Progression Equipment Includes:

Each upgrade expands how much you can carry and changes how you approach:
- mining
- exploration

Inventory progression is fully integrated into survival gameplay rather than acting as simple extra storage.
⚖️ Dynamic Weight & Encumbrance System
Every item in your inventory has weight.
Carrying too much will gradually encumber the player and affect movement, forcing you to make meaningful decisions about what to bring on adventures.
Encumbrance Effects Include:
- slower movement
- reduced mobility
- survival penalties from excessive burden
- inventory management becoming part of survival strategy
Heavy materials like stone, metal, and ores quickly become difficult to transport without proper preparation.
🧠 Intelligent Weight Calculation
SlotZero features an advanced recipe-aware weight engine.
Instead of manually assigning every item a random value, the system automatically calculates weights using:
- crafting recipes
- recursive material relationships
- refining/smelting logic
- fallback heuristics for unknown modded items
This allows the mod to remain highly compatible with large modpacks and heavily modded environments.
Examples:
- Gold Blocks correctly weigh the same as 9 Gold Ingots
- Smelting removes a small amount of impurity weight
- Backpacks calculate the weight of everything stored inside them
