Sniffing and Smithing is an Minecraft 1.20+ Forge Mod that adds a new Material called Sniffonium.
Sniffonium is an Endgame Material that is made out of Netherite and Snifferium which is an early stage material of Sniffonium. The new Material focuses all around the Sniffer. The "new" Mob that has been added in Minecraft 1.20.

You will get some short information about these Items.
Snifferium: Snifferium is the early stage of Sniffonium and can be dropped by a Sniffer. If you kill it you have a chance to get 0-2 units. This item is necessary for crafting Sniffonium, Snik Upgrade & Sniffonium Upgrade. You need it for EVERYTHING!
Sniffonium Ingot: The Sniffonium Ingot can be obtained by putting an Netherite Ingot in a Smithing Table combined with the Sniffonium Upgrade Template and Snifferium. With this you can craft the new Tools and Armor!
Snik: The Snik is a new Stick made out of Sniffonium. You can obtain it by putting an Snik Upgrade Template, a stick and a piece of Snifferium into a Smithing Table. It will be our new base for the new Tools.
Snik Upgrade Template: This Template can be craftet by surrounding a Snifferium piece with Sticks in a Workbench.
Sniffonium Upgrade Template: This Template can be crafted with Gold Ingots, Netherite Scraps and a piece of Snifferium.
No worries! These Templates can also be recrafted with a copy of them self and some other Materials.
On top of that, I've added a crafting recipe for a Sniffer egg to speed up the process a bit. It's not exactly cheap, but it's better than spending hours farming and killing Sniffers. But i won't tell you how to craft it now, you have to discover this in-game ;)
A quick info in advance: Every piece of the new tools has a durability of 3031.
I will only tell the Damage of the Sword and the Axe, because the other ones aren't important to fight.
Sword: 10 Damage points Axe: 12 Damage points.
Our beautiful new armor Set. Kind strong one if you ask me. Well, here are some informations:
Helmet: 5 Protection Chestplate: 10 Protection Leggings: 8 Protection Boots: 5 Protection Armor Toughness: 4,0 Knockbackresistance: 0,3
All Armor pieces can be crafted the normal way - with Sniffonium Ingots. To make it more challenging ;)
There is also a new Food Variant. The Sniffeef. (Yeah kinda funny name right?)
The raw Sniffeef can be also obtained by killing a Sniffer. You will always get one piece.
You can cook it in a Furnace, smoke it in a Smoker or grill it on a Campfire to get the Cooked Sniffeef. I'll promise it will give you a little more hungerbars than a cooked Beef :D
The new Block can be craftet with 9 Sniffonium Ingots, and also activate a Beacon.
