To Be Player X

Turn the Minecraft world into a living comic book with a snap of your fingers.

To Be Player X is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11, inspired by X's abilities and the visual style of To Be Hero X. Press X, choose a surface, and watch a colorful ink blot spread through the scene as the world transforms into Surface: a drawn dimension with directional gravity, comic-book shading, and vibrant post-processing effects.

Features

• Walk on walls and ceilings. Gravity is determined by the face you snap to. Movement still feels like regular Minecraft, including sprinting, jumping, sneaking, and creative flight.
• Change gravity at will. While inside Surface, snap to another face to teleport to it and make it your new floor. Snapping into empty space lets you enter Surface from your current position or return to the normal world.
• A fully animated comic-book transition. The drawn world spreads outward from the destination as a noisy three-dimensional paint blot, accompanied by an animated SNAP! effect.
• Multiple visual styles. Choose between Comic, Neon, Manga, Blueprint, Oil, Watercolor, Cel, Etching, Spectrum, and Glass. Each preset changes the colors, outlines, shading, depth treatment, and overall character of Surface.
• Seal mobs inside Surface. Aim at a creature and snap to turn it into a crisp, depth-projected comic decal across the world geometry. The mob remains frozen in the normal world and becomes a fully active 3D entity again when you enter Surface.
• Player-owned captures. Sealed mobs remain linked to the player who captured them. Another player's Surface cannot activate or release your creatures.
• Surface protection. While inside the drawn dimension, normal damage, suffocation, drowning, and air loss are disabled.
• Custom finger-snap audio. Every activation plays a random sound from the finger_snap sound set.

Controls

• X — snap, enter or leave Surface, and select a new gravity direction.
• /xhero shader <style> — select a post-processing preset.

Version 0.1.0 is the first public release of the mechanic. The core abilities are already playable, while the physics, rendering, and visual styles will continue to evolve.
