BalancedTrades ⚖️
BalancedTrades is a lightweight PaperMC plugin designed to fix the overpowered vanilla villager economy. Vanilla trades make it far too easy to farm infinite emeralds, breaking the game's progression. This plugin rebalances the most exploited trades by adjusting the required item quantities and heavily capping the maximum number of uses per restock.
✨ Features & Changes
This plugin targets specific villager professions and modifies their ingredient demands and stock limits:
- 🏹 Fletcher: 64 Sticks -> 1 Emerald. (Price is strictly fixed. It will not drop via the zombie curing mechanic, preventing infinite emerald exploits).
- 📚 Librarian: 8 Books -> 1 Emerald.
- ⛪ Cleric: 6 Gold Ingots -> 1 Emerald.
- ⚒️ Smiths (Armorer, Weaponsmith, Toolsmith): 8 Iron Ingots OR 2 Diamonds -> 1 Emerald.
- 🔄 Strict Restock Limits: To prevent massive hoarding, all the modified trades mentioned above are hard-capped at a maximum of 6 uses per cycle.
- ⚡ Retroactive Updates: The plugin automatically updates the trades of newly spawned villagers AND existing ones. The moment a player opens an old villager's inventory, their trades will instantly update to the balanced economy.
❓ Why use this plugin?
If you run an SMP, a hardcore survival server, or a server with a player-driven economy, vanilla villagers can ruin the experience by making players overpowered on day one. BalancedTrades keeps villager trading viable and useful, but requires players to actually work for their emeralds.
