Cats x Phantoms Interaction Fix
Minecraft plugin that reworks Mojang's overlooked cat–phantom interaction nuance, where phantom dive attacks trigger constant cat hissing and turns cats into an unintended source of repetitive noise rather than a useful defensive mob.
Cats prevent phantoms from attacking within a 16-block radius of a tamed cat.
This is VANILLA BEHAVIOR that is massively underutilized by the players, sometimes unknown entirely.
The sound of hissing and phantoms makes it absolutely unplayable to be around cats at night with insomnia on. Making this mechanic unusable while in-game sounds is on.
What this plugin does.
- Removes repetitive cat hissing caused by frequent phantom dive attacks.
- Prevents phantoms from making noise while player is within cat's range.
What it achieves.
- Turns cats into a proper functional counter to phantoms instead of a half-baked afterthought.
- Allows for a compromise between disabling phantoms and losing game content.
- Hopefully will allow people to tolerate phantoms more instead of either enduring their poorly paced and disruptive design or resorting to outright disabling them entirely, as well as brings more reason to tame cats.
How to use?
- Just tame and disperce cats around your base, and its done.
Why this isn't in vanilla game?
I theorize that Mojang never cared enough to play-test this and as with many things in this game, it was forgotten or not thought out thoroughly.
Version support.
- Due to simplicity of the plugin it should work on much older versions too, but i haven't tested it.
