CouchBounty
Put a price on their head. Players place money on other players, the bounty stacks, and whoever gets the kill takes the pot.
How it works
- Any player can place a bounty with
/bounty set <player> <amount>— the money is withdrawn from their balance. - Multiple bounties on the same player stack into a single pot.
- When the target is killed by another player, the killer receives the bounty and it resets to zero. Any kill Minecraft attributes to the killer counts — melee, projectiles, TNT, wolves, knockback into the void.
- Only the killer sees the payout message; a server-wide broadcast is optional.
- The target is notified when a bounty is placed on them — instantly if online, or on their next join if they were offline.

- Paginated GUI — everyone with a bounty is listed as their player head, showing the total amount, the last setter and the number of contributors. Page arrows, close button, configurable sounds.
- PlaceholderAPI support — ranked placeholders for a "Most Wanted" scoreboard.
- English & German language files — MiniMessage formatting, every message editable, custom languages supported.
- Fully configurable — minimum/maximum bounty, tax, self-bounties, anonymous setters, cooldown, payout percentage, broadcasts, sounds.
- Admin commands — set bounties for free, reset them, reload the config without a restart.
- Config that survives updates — new options are merged into your existing
config.ymlautomatically; your values and comments stay untouched.

Ranks without a bounty return configurable values, so scoreboard lines never break.
Requirements
- Paper 1.21.x or a Paper fork — the plugin uses the Paper API and does not run on plain Spigot/Bukkit
- Java 21
- Vault and an economy plugin (e.g. EssentialsX) — without an economy provider the plugin disables itself and logs the reason
- PlaceholderAPI — optional, only required for the placeholders
Installation
- Install Vault and an economy plugin.
- Drop the jar into your
pluginsfolder. - Start the server — the config and both language files are generated.
- Adjust
plugins/CouchBounty/config.ymland run/bounty reload.
