PrestigeEvent is a server-wide endgame event engine for the Prestige suite on Paper 1.21. It awakens the Astryx - a void entity that pulls power from your players through a world-spanning Beam. Players split into Red vs. Blue teams, farm Resonance, complete the Beam's cryptic demands, and race the clock as the world itself begins to collapse.
Add-on for the Prestige core plugin (
softdepend: Prestige). Designed to sit on top of a running Prestige SMP as its climactic event.
The Event
When an admin awakens the Astryx, the server enters a live, escalating event:
- Two teams, one Beam. Players are sorted into Red and Blue, each with colored nametags and a shared Resonance score shown on a scoreboard.
- Resonance milestones drive the escalation:
- 10,000 → Milestone I
- 50,000 → Milestone II
- 100,000 → Milestone III → Stage 2
- The world reacts. Until 100k Resonance, a chunk is destroyed every hour. A Nether-Star border expands as players feed stars into it (+blocks per star) and shrinks as a penalty when quests are failed.
Beam Quests
The Beam issues cryptic, weighted-random demands and rewards or punishes based on the outcome:
"The beam hungers for innocent souls… bring them to me…"
Quest types include item tributes (netherite blocks, 64 diamonds, enchanted books, enchanted golden apples), villager sacrifice, pilgrimages to coordinates, survival trials, inventory sacrifice, Warden kills, and raid survival. Success grants powerful rewards; failure triggers one of 18 punishments - Prestige Lock, Bad Omen, Coordinate Leak, Inventory Scatter, Random Teleport, Health Reduction, and more.
Netherite Questline
Earn a full set of netherite armor through four escalating challenges:
- Boots - Player Hunt (eliminate a target within the hour)
- Leggings - Infection (infect 10 players without dying)
- Chestplate - One-Heart Survival (survive on a single heart across hours of playtime, coordinates flaring periodically)
- Helmet - the final Ritual
Presentation
PrestigeEvent ships heavy, packet-driven visual FX: the pulsing Beam with per-team colors, a rotating chained Cube that charges and detonates, dome shockwaves, orbiting spark rings, radial lightning, and screen shake - plus optional ambient audio you can mute per player.
