VaultSlim

VaultSlim is a lightweight, modern replacement for Vault, built for servers that want the Vault API without carrying around years of obsolete integrations and unnecessary overhead.

It keeps the familiar Vault API and package structure, so plugins using Vault can continue working without requiring code changes.

Why VaultSlim?

The original Vault still contains integrations for dozens of old permission and chat plugins that are no longer relevant to most modern servers.

VaultSlim removes that legacy code and keeps the part that actually matters: the API and service layer used by modern economy, permissions and chat plugins.

• Legacy permission and chat implementations for outdated plugins
• Old update-checking logic
• Unnecessary metrics and integration code
• Other historical code that modern servers no longer need

Built-in PlaceholderAPI support

VaultSlim includes its own Vault PlaceholderAPI expansion, so a separate Vault expansion is not required.

Numeric placeholders are implemented using allocation-free parsing and optimized specifically for frequently evaluated placeholders.

Installation

1. Stop the server.
2. Remove the original Vault.jar and PlaceholderAPI/expansions/Expansion-vault.jar.
3. Add VaultSlim.jar.
4. Start the server.

Do not install Vault and VaultSlim at the same time.

Plugins should continue accessing Vault services through the normal API:

Economy economy = registration.getProvider();

No Vault-specific code changes are required.

Philosophy

VaultSlim does not try to reinvent Vault.

It simply keeps the useful API and removes the parts that no longer make sense on a modern Minecraft server.
