Starting from an idea to replace the grating nether portal sound, this pack is a series of tweaks, replacements, and additions to parts of Minecraft's sound world. The sounds are designed with a minimalist approach to processing to preserve the intimate, home-made spirit of vanilla.
The number of new and reworked sounds will be forever increasing as I find more sounds I'm unsatisfied with. The current roster of sounds touched up include:
- nether portal ambience
- endermen sounds
- grass, dirt, and sand
- rain
- water and lava
- menu clicks
All sounds added are subject to change if I find they aren't meeting my standards.
While the goal of this pack is to be as lightweight as possible, I will be adding Polytone as a dependancy at somepoint soon. This is already a common dependancy for other resource packs, and it will allow me to easily define my own sound events for new emitters and block sounds.
The sounds are made from a combination of my own personal library, crowd sourced sounds from SFX Swap and Freesound, and official sounds from Minecraft.
Resources I use for my music and sound:
- ZOOM H1, 2x Oktava mk-012
- SFX Swap
- Freesound.org (occassionally)
- Ableton Live 12
- Omnisphere 3
- Orchestral Tools libraries
- Serum 2
